Matthew McLean
Geomechanics Engineer
Dr. McLean specializes in reservoir geomechanics. He has developed and applied numerical methods to coupled thermal-hydraulic-mechanical processes in the subsurface, which has application in hydrocarbon recovery, geothermal energy, nuclear waste storage, and carbon geological storage, among others. Dr. McLean has experience with advanced poromechanical constitutive modeling of naturally and hydraulically fractured reservoirs, reservoir performance analysis, mechanical earth modeling, coupled geomechanics and fluid flow modeling, history matching, fault stability analysis, and surface deformation analysis.
